Everything but the chocolate chip pancake was great. It was only 3.99 so I guess I can't complain but it was dry and burnt. The service was very friendly and quick. It was slightly crowded but we only waited 5-10 minutes to be seated on a Sunday at noon.

Very good food. I used to go here all the time when I was younger, even though I haven't eaten at Trip's Diner in forever. I can still feel the taste of good food on my mouth. Also friendly waiters and good service. The whole vibe the inside gives off is very old timey.

This is still one of my favorite staple restaurants to eat in Tampa. Went here for brunch with two friends who were first timers and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I had the chicken biscuits with a side of gravy, sliced tomatoes, and of course I had to get the grits. The cheese grits are probably my favorite menu item here and they taste better every time I visit. One of my friends had the shrimp and grits and the other had chicken and waffles. If you're debating going, stop, debating, and just visit.

You'll love the cheese grits here. Even if you don't like grits, try em! I like the chicken and biscuits. Coffee is absolutely horrible and the sausage links are turkey, yuck but the other stuff makes up for it. My buddy ordered the egg sandwich and it looked so sad with one egg and one sausage patty it was disappointing but the managers response in the red shirt made it worse. Oh well. The loaded potatoes are great and the service is usually good. Definitely try this place but IMO get your coffee elsewhere..

I've been on the hunt for some of Tampa's best diners and Trip's is going near the top. The first thing you need to do is make a game plan for parking. You may end up parking on a side street depending on the time of day. Once you go in, there are options for takeout, inside or outside seating, and a breakfast bar in the back. I opted to skip the wait and eat at the breakfast bar. Definitely plan on trying outside next time, maybe even some of the fat free lettuce if it's still available! I ordered one of their French toast breakfast combos and added a biscuit. The food was delicious. French toast was soft and not overtly sweet, but adding syrup transformed the flavors into sweeter bites. Eggs were pretty good, the bacon was ridiculous . It's pretty thick and had a great crunch while not being burnt. My server worked the bar and you could tell the restaurant was busy. It was kinda cool to see everyone working so well together to push out the orders. My food took less than 15 minutes and it seemed like they had a good system in place to handle the high influx of customers.

Came here today on the recommendation of a friend. As a few folks have said the outside is not very impressive and the parking is limited but once you get inside the place opens up with plenty of seats available. Once seated we were served quickly. Our meals were a decent portion and we ended up bringing some food home. My meal was ok but not amazing. The wife had biscuits and gravy with bacon. She really enjoyed hers and said she would get it again. Mine was the corned beef hash with eggs and toast. The corned beef was not my favorite so I probably would get something different on our next visit. The interior of the dinner looked exactly like an old school dinner and was clean. The service was great and yes I will come back sometime.

One of those places you might have nonchalantly missed, having driven right on by. For years. That'd be me. But, I put a stop to that nonsense on Tuesday! Made plans to meet my son and take him there for lunch. Inside, it is much larger than I'd imagined. Very roomy. Diner on steroids atmosphere. Nice sized menu. Definitely doable finding something to please your palate. My boy got breakfast basics. Eggs, hash browns etc with a luscious hollandaise sauce drizzled o'er it. His smile said it all. Yum. I got the Breakfast Cuban. As much as I love a traditional Cuban sandwich, I was pleasantly surprised at this variation on a theme. VERY nice bunch of flavors pressed into that crunch. Service was excellent! Kind and accommodating. And check out those chocolate chips while you're cashing out! We had a great trip!
